Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and if you’re feeling heartbroken, you’ve clicked onto the right place. Let me fix your heart because no girl (or guy) deserves to be feeling down and out this Valentine’s Day. Today’s a new day so get out there and carry on being amazing.
1. Cry sesh
Let it all out. It’s no use to bottle up all your emotions so if at one point in your breakup you feel like listening to sad music with a box of tissues in hand, do it. No doubt about it, you’ll feel so much better after you’ve released all your unwanted sadness and anger. It’ll feel like a massive weight has been lifted off your shoulders and you’re finally ready to go out and conquer anything!
2. Don’t think about them
It’s easier said than done, but if you find yourself thinking about your ex, stop yourself and ask yourself if this is good for your happiness (the answer is no). Do what you need to do to get this poisonous person out of your head – rip up and burn photos, delete them on Social Media, block their number, whatever you feel the need to do, do that and get over them.
3. Keep busy
If you’re just chilling all alone with your lonesome self during a breakup, you’re bound to over-think about things you really shouldn’t be thinking about… like your ex. Keeping yourself busy will help you to focus on other things other than dumb boys, so try to incorporate activities in your day like having a few friends over for some horror films, or even try your hand at some challenging DIY projects.
4. Know that your perfect guy/girl is out there
You know what they say – “there’s plenty of fish in the sea”. It’s totally true, except instead of fish, we’re talking about humans and the sea bit is a metaphor for Earth. Just think, there are billions of people that you haven’t met yet and you have the rest of your life to meet as many people as possible so don’t stay so fixated on one person because your perfect guy/girl is out there.
5. Workout and work hard
Zone the f*** out and do a bit of a workout, even if you hate the thought of vigorous physical activity. Put some of your favorite music on to pump you up and go for a run or swing a few punches at a punching bag (and pretend it’s your ex). Let off some steam and WERK towards a stronger, more confident you.
