How To Smile At Life

We totally get that some days are nothing but shitty. We all get days that drag on and we agree wholeheartedly that it sucks.

Each of us are given a life to live the best way we can. It’s time to finally realize that we need to seize each day and smile more at life!

Keep trying new things. Engage in new activities, go and explore new places, eat a meal at a new restaurant, take a new route home. Do something out of the norm and maybe a little out of your comfort zone.

Embrace your weird. Every one has something weird about them. Some are weirder than others, but we need to understand that it’s our weird that makes us unique!

Find your happy place. Whether that’s literally a place that you go to feel peaceful, or maybe it’s resting your head on someones chest, or even just a playlist of songs that make you smile.

Accomplish something you’ve always wanted to do. Be that person who is always determined; the person who can walk the walk. Accomplish that thing and you have the power to inspire others.

Let’s give you another reason to smile. Check out these posts.

3 Things To Consider Before Making a Fashion Purchase

We know you’re all about that fashion life, and we get it – spending money on clothes is always a good idea.

But if you’re like most of us and have way too little money to spend for such expensive taste, then we want to help a sister out. We’re giving advice out for free – and who doesn’t like a freebie here and there?

Read on for 3 simple things to consider before making a big fashion purchase.

Screen Shot 2016-02-18 at 3.22.07 pm

#1 Think of at least 3 different ways you can style the item.
If you don’t already have at least 3 different outfits that you can picture yourself in with this fashion item, then maybe you don’t need to buy it just yet. It’s good practice for buying less and getting more out of things.

#2 If you can’t stop thinking about it, buy it.
If you’ve talked yourself out of buying this thing for a long, long time and you wish you had this item to complete your everyday outfits, then maybe it’s worth investing in. It’s not like an impulse buy; if you can’t get it off your mind when putting together an outfit, go for it!

#3 Can you get a better deal for it elsewhere?
This is rule number one for any frugal friends out there. Shop around in-store and online to see if you can find the same item but with a smaller price tag.

7 things everyone needs to remember at all times

In this day and age, it’s easy to let life pass you by. It’s easy to be caught up in the next thing that needs to be done that we don’t stop to be in the moment.

girls-1031538_960_720

So here’s your moment to pause life’s chaos for a few minutes and remember these seven things!

1. Drink more water
You already know that it’s super good for you! Drinking enough water has so many benefits like giving you healthy skin, gets rid of body toxins, boosts your energy, fights infection and more. Go and have a glass of chilled water right now!

2. Sleeping is good for you
Isn’t it just the best news you’ve heard in a while? Who knew taking naps would be so rewarding?

3. Your life doesn’t have to be documented on social media
Remember that you don’t have to update every one of your social media platforms. Instead of taking out your phone so often to update your status or to add to your Snapchat story, take in experiences and enjoy moments.

4. Being single doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you
It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. Remember that you’re just as brave, driven and fabulous. Own it, babe.

5. A lot can happen within the space of 10 minutes
Change is bound to happen, and it can happen in a small amount of time. So when you feel as if nothing is going your way, keep your head up and know that it can change within a few minutes.

6. It’s okay to cry every once in a while.
Let down your guard every once in a while because festering negative energy is bad news.

7. Hard work pays off
It’s all about having a goal to work towards. Have that incentive to work hard and to reach that goal of yours, and you’ll find out that hard work really does pay off.

Inspire your life! Check out these posts.

4 beauty trends to leave behind in 2015!

If you’re a beauty buff, you know that trends come and go like no one’s business.

Yesterday contouring was all the rage, today it’s the lilac hair and tomorrow it’ll be baby hairs swirled ever-so-stylishly onto your face. It’s a fact: beauty trends are always changing and it’s hard to keep up with.

The bad news is that this blog today is all about reliving and (hopefully) laughing about the bad beauty trends that we shall never speak about again. The good news is that you don’t have to do the research – here are the 4 beauty trends that we’re definitely leaving behind!

Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge
It was funny while it lasted and, as we all saw more and more Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge fail videos it became one huge face palm. Bruised mouths and bleeding lips is not what we want to see! And let’s be real, your lips are already gorgeous, honey!

Glitter everything
And we mean everything. Sure, a bit of shimmer on the eyes is fabulous, or some glittery highlight is hella pretty, but once your makeup sparkles like a disco ball, we see a big no-no!

Bad ombré
Okay, dark to light hair has had its fair share of popularity. We’ll admit that ombré is gorgeous when done right, but we’ll kindly decline bad and unblended hair color.

Sharp and boxy brows
Eyebrows were all the rage in 2015 (and still are!). Some people got it right and some people got it wrong. Everyone has unique brows, but let’s say goodbye to overly drawn on brows!

Is beauty your thing? We’ve got what you need.

Things you should say goodbye to before 2016 | PART 2

Good morning to the final beautiful morning of 2015!

As the year comes to an end, we want to help you say goodbye to the things that you’d rather leave behind with the past year. We’re all for letting go, cleansing the soul and moving forward.

couple-598315_960_720

You’ve stumbled upon part two; you can read part one here x

Saying “no” to opportunities too often
Say goodbye to overthinking situations and letting yourself talk yourself out of opportunities. Just say “yes” and see what amazing things you could get up to.

Ungratefulness
Say goodbye to taking life for granted. Don’t complain as much and appreciate what you have, the people, the love and the support that you’re surrounded by. Go tell someone how much you love them!

Not ‘having time’ for important things
Say goodbye to not putting what’s important first. Get your priorities right and put more effort in to make time for the important things.

Being afraid
Say goodbye to the fear that you’ve built up. Whether it’s being afraid of letting someone fully in to your life, or if it’s your fear of spiders – work on it and ultimately tell yourself that you actually can conquer anything.

Cleanse your soul for the new year. Click here for Part 1.

Things you should say goodbye to before 2016 | PART 1

You’ve heard of New Year resolutions and for the most part, people never stick to them.

Instead, why not start fresh this week leading up to the new year by saying see ya later to the negativity in your life. Today and Thursday, Gold Vibez will be preparing your mind, body and soul for 2016 by letting go of the unwanted baggage you’ve maybe built up over this year.

IMG-2016

Get ready to greet the new year with an open heart and an open mind by saying goodbye to these things.

Thinking negatively about others
Say goodbye to negative thinking about people. It’s so easy to judge a book by its cover, so focus on steering away from that state of mind. Turn it around and think positively. More empowerment!

Poisonous people
Say goodbye to people who bring a whole lot of negativity into your life. You don’t need an excuse to walk away from relationships like these. It’s okay to be in control of who you let in to your life.

Body “standards”
Say goodbye to the pressure of reaching the “perfect body”. Set your own body goals and make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. Remember babe, you’re already beautiful.

Thinking the worst in situations
Say goodbye to being a pessimist. It’s not a healthy thing to always expect the worst all the time, so stick to being more of an optimist in the new year.

Watch this space. Part 2 coming soon.

4 Basic Beauty Lessons To Learn

These days, we get a lot of really useful beauty tips from really talented people. In an instant, we can learn how to line our lips properly, how to get our eyebrows on fleek, how to contour and highlight like a pro, and even a little special effects makeup. Bottom line is – we can learn some pretty cool beauty lessons these days.

But what about those really simple makeup lessons that we could all benefit from? We’ve got you. Here are some makeup lessons that we want to pass on from a sister to another! Enjoy and happy makeup-ing!

tues-beautylessons

Wear a Nude Lip that suits you, not what what suits other people.
We know just how much you want to go out and splurge on all the high end nude lip colors that your favorite celebrities wear, but this is something to avoid! Lipsticks are something you need to shop around for! Make sure you do a lot of swatches because everyone’s complexion is different, and different lip colors match different people. Before you go out and buy that YSL Nude color, head in-store and swatch it on your skin before you spend all that money. You might hate the product on your skin, but you might just fall in love – you never know.

Blend, then blend some more.
It’s in the girl bible to always blend when it comes to applying makeup. It’s still a little cringe-worthy when makeup is visibly un-blended and you just wanna help a girl out! When applying makeup onto that beautiful face of yours, whether it’s eyeshadow or foundation, blend in circular motions. You can also try out blending sponges if you’re feeling a little more creative.

A little lippy goes a long way.
Whether it’s your fiercest dark lip, your brightest pink or a some gloss, a little lip love makes you look a little more ‘put together’, especially on your off-duty days when makeup is just not necessary.

Don’t do your makeup in bad light.
If there was one beauty lesson that everybody should learn from the very first day makeup touches their face, it’s that they should never, ever do a full face of makeup in bad light. Bad light is basically anything too dark or even too bright. To achieve good light, sit by the window and try to let the natural light hit your face while you do your makeup. This helps you to get a flawlessly made up face every time.
