White on white on white. Go all out on a white Christmas this year with white wrapping paper, white ribbon and top it all off with a white swing tag. Such a simple and clean look.
The rustic look. This involves elements like fabric instead of paper, jute string instead of ribbons and a small stem of leaves for that organic vibe. This is sure to be an eye-catcher!
Night sky inspired. It’s simple. Black paper and a metallic marker. The rest is up to you! Draw something festive on the paper or, write something sentimental.

We would all go back to our Prom night if we could, whether it was to change something that happened or if we just wanted to re-live it.
For those who are yet to experience a ‘Prom night’ – you’re in for an exciting ride. You’ll have thoughts cross your mind that you’d never think you would like ‘Is $100 a reasonable price for someone to do my makeup for Prom?’ (it isn’t btw), ‘Why can I never find a cute dress when I actually need to find a cute dress?!’ and the notorious ‘Where should I get a fake tan?’, ‘When should I get the fake tan?’ and ‘Should I actually fake tan????’
CHERISH THE MOMENT
These are some of the best times that you’ll experience in high school. You’ll be looking back in 10 or 20 years and you’ll want to be able to say “Wasn’t Prom just the best time ever?” Events like these only come around once and they’re made for your enjoyment, so have some fun with your main bae’s!
SHOP ONLINE WITH CAUTION
Let’s be real here. Online shopping is the bomb. It’s available to you 24/7 and when it arrives at your doorstep, it’s like getting a gift from yourself – what’s not to love? But before you hit the checkout, it’s important to know what you’re buying, where you’re buying from and who you’re buying from because the last thing you want is to be scammed right before something as important as Prom!
DANCE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING
Leave all the shame behind and let loose! Like I said, Prom isn’t going to come around again, so make the most of your time especially on the dance floor – a place where it’s as if barriers are broken down and everyone is friends with everyone. Grab your entourage and get down!
COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER
Don’t see Prom as a competition, but see it as one big party. Memories will be made at Prom, so to get the good vibes flowing, be sure to compliment as many guys and gals as possible. You never know how much you’ll be making their night just that little bit better.
Time to give your eyes a rest from staring at screens all day, get up and make your way into town because you’ve got some serious exploring to do.
Becoming a Tourist in your own city is an inexpensive way you can explore the nooks and cranny’s of your town and it’s a way you can find some pretty awesome hidden gems.
If you’ve got a day to yourself or if you’re looking for something to do with a friend, become a tourist in your own City for the day. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it can be inspiring and you’re bound to learn something new.
So how exactly so you become a Tourist in your own City I hear you asking? Well it’s simple – put aside your stresses, take a camera and explore.
Eat at a cafe that you’ve never been to
Visit a vintage bookstore and look around
Visit your city’s famous tourist attractions and appreciate them
Attend the festivals that are on around the city
Shop at the markets – you never know what you’ll find
Don’t be ashamed of taking photos
Look out for free events
Grab a rug and your friends and have a picnic in a park
The last thing you want this Spring is to be bored and have literally nothing to do during one of the best seasons. It’s Thursday and since the weekend is nearly here, this is your chance to make the most of it! Never be bored again with your very own Spring activities list, and let’s be honest who doesn’t love a good list? So have a quick look at this list and make the most of your Spring time!
People get pretty excited about concerts/festivals – they’re a pretty big deal. You get the chance to spend time with some friends and watch someone you adore perform for you at the same time – what’s not to get excited about? If you’re new to the scene, you’re in for treat! I’ve prepared the only thing on the internet you’ll need to read for everything you need to know to be concert ready.
It’s a hot topic and a burning question everyone asks no matter where they go. I’ve got the perfect combination of items that you need to be carrying with you to your next concert.
A small bag or no bag at all
If you have a small cross-body bag or a small backpack, bring that! It’s a perfect size for a concert because you should only bring the essentials. If you insist on bringing heaps, check if the concert venue has a Cloak Room so you can check in your goodies safely.
Leave your cameras at home
Don’t be one of those party poopers who film and photograph the entire performance and forget to be in the moment. There’s nothing wrong with filming 1 or 2 songs and taking a few photos on your phone, but don’t watch the concert through a screen.
Did you bring the tickets?
I’ve seen it happen before to other people – they managed to forget their ticket to the concert. Check at least 5 times before you leave the house if you have everything!
These are the essentials
Phone, Wallet (Only bring what you’ll use!) and your ID. That’s it.
No matter what genre of concert you’re going to – you’re probably going to want to get up and enjoy yourself, whether that involves jumping in sync with the crowd, getting up just to sing along or to dance with no rhythm. It’s guaranteed that you’ll be on your feet and moving all night, so it’s an absolute must that you rock up wearing something comfortable, but stylish (of course!).
Shorts are always a good option
They give your legs some air to breathe and you won’t get suffocated by jeans. There’s so many kinds of cute shorts out there, so go ahead and treat your booty to something cute! You can always add stockings underneath for cooler nights.
Chuck on some leggings for the cold
They’re the best bottoms to wear if you’re out on a cold night or you plan on sitting for the night. They still give you allowance to move around and they prevent you from freezing!
Comfortable shoes are a must!
Sorry gals but it’s probably not the best idea to wear your new Jeffrey Campbells to a concert. Wear shoes that you know can go through a beating, but can keep your feet happy. If you want some added height, you’ll benefit out of investing in some comfortable Flatform shoes.
Don’t go overboard on accessories
The last thing you want at the end of your night is knowing that you’ve lost your favorite ring, so I strongly suggest that you leave the expensive stuff at home. Everyone wants to enjoy their time and no one wants to spend the entire night having wrists with excessive bracelets and chunky rings waved in front of their faces!
There’s probably no need to be all glammed up if you’re going to (TMI warning) sweat it off anyway, plus, it might be bad for your skin. But if you want to, then no one’s stopping you!
Try Waterproof makeup
It’s supposed to withstand water, right? Why not give it a go and end the night still looking perfectly made up.
Use lipstick that will last
If you want to smack some color onto your lips, then use a Matte formula lipstick or a lip product that you swear by. You don’t want to be smudging color all over your skin and clothes!
Tie your hair up!
If you’ve scored yourself a spot on the floor, you’re bound to be pushed up against random people left, right, center, front, back and every other angle possible. Your concert experience will, no doubt, involve major movement and sweat. The last thing you want to add to that mix is hair drenched in sweat whipped right in your face.
You never know what might happen at a concert/festival. You might meet some lovely random people or you might leave thinking it was the worst night of your life.
The floor is where all the action is
If you’ve found yourself smack bang in front of the performer on the dancefloor, then be prepared for one hell of an experience. Prepare yourself to be pushed in every direction, drenched in water, alcohol and sweat. It might sound bad, but at least you can say “Remember that time when I was covered in sweat and beer? Good times.”
It’s gonna get loud
And I mean, really loud. If you leave with a high pitched ringing in your ears – that’s normal; you’re doing it right.
Not everyone will be nice
You’ll overhear some pretty nasty conversations since everyone’s standing or sitting so close to each other. Whether it’s about the supporting act or about someone standing right next to them, they’ll bitch loudly enough so be nice. If you see someone struggling, help them. If you accidentally fall on someone, apologize and shoot a smile!
Thank the lord it’s Friday..finally! I don’t know about you guys but I like the weekend. You can sleep in duh! Plus it’s the time you can go hang with your girls and relax after a long week’s worth of bills, worrying about the next move, work or guy drama. So to start this weekend off right let’s be positive and enjoy ourselves while we’re young. You only live once right? But that doesn’t mean to not take care of ourselves and our bodies.
If you haven’t read the last blog post, then go HERE and check it out for dope beats to soundtrack your life this weekend. (I know. A bit cheesy) Keep it PG for all minors ok! But the music will have you feeling some type of way until that dreadful Monday morning wake up call. In the mean time, IT”S FRIDAY!! (Drink at a healthy pace. No drinking and driving ladies and gents.)
1. Go Dancing
And no, I don’t mean go clubbing..which you can totally do, try something different and sign up for a fun hip hop dance class. This is a great way to get in shape and goof around at the same time. Dancing is a lot more cardio than you think. It’ll have you sweating in no time. You hardly even realize you’re working out. Trust me, I just took a hip hop class over this last weekend and fell in love. I found the exercise that will work for me! Classes tend to be pretty cheap as well. You can go alone or convince friends to tag along with you. Guilt them if you have to.(video from Janelle Ginestra’s channel)
2. Schedule an impromptu photo shoot with friends
Do you, a friend or someone you know have a camera? Then get a group together and organize a last-minute photo shoot. It’ll be fun and no one has to ever see these pictures if you don’t want. They will be fun to look at while at work for a quick laugh or to hold blackmail against a friend. Drinks can always be added. Insert evil laugh here
3. Go to a Drive-in Movie Theatre
I used to go see movies at drive-ins all of the time when I was younger. They are fun and you can make a cool trip out of them. You can take blankets, chairs and sneak snacks into the outside theaters (the concessions there are hella expensive lol) You also get to watch two movies for the price of one! Can’t beat that. This could be a chance to snuggle up close to a guy or girl you’ve been crushing on if you invite friends and make a group and make something special out of it. And if you don’t live close to one try making your own drive in. If you’re really lazy then just stay in and have a Netflix night, no harm in that either.
4. Throw a Pinterest Party!
If you’re like me then you have at least a dozen boards on Pinterest full of things you keep saying that you’ll try. Wether it’s the fitness board that you’ve added hundreds of pins to but haven’t started really looking at or that DIY crafts board that you were so excited about months ago, try them now. Right Now! This weekend with friends. Blast music while doing them and watch how much fun you’ll be having…you won’t even remember why you hadn’t tried this before. Add drinks if you want *wink wink
5. Iron Chef “Healthy version” contest…or not
Invite friends (guys, girls or both) for some fun and food! You can even make it into a battle of the sexes. Cook out of the items in your kitchen (make sure to stock up on food) or better yet have the friends bring some treats with them and get creative with the dishes. Try sticking to the healthier side if you can. Or at least drink water…or something else..
6. Go To an Open Mic Night/Karaoke Bar
Theres bound to be some sort of talent in your town. Or at the very least it’ll be a fun night filled with laughs. You can laugh and crack jokes at the people brave or drunk enough to get up and sing. Did I mention there’s usually no cover and drinks? It may turn out to be an unforgettable night.
7. Try a dating app/site
Ok, you guys and girls know you’ve wanted to try it but you haven’t because you think it’s too weird and only for “old people who can’t find someone”. You would be so wrong. You never really know until you try. There’s no harm in trying. There are some pretty cool ones out there such as:
Coffee meets Bagel
POF (plenty of fish)
Dating DNA free
…These are some of the cooler dating outlets to try opposed to regular meeting, dating, etc. Don’t knock it until you it. I’m currently trying out Tinder and I’ve tried OkCupid as well as C.M.B. before. Take a chance and none of your friends have to find out if you don’t want them to and feel that embarrassed about it. You aren’t the only ones having a hard time finding that special someone. Trust.
Have a great weekend and comment below telling about your weekends. #goldsoulla
