NAIL THE LOOK: Tips to achieve salon nails

You either hate doing it, or you love it. Yep, it’s all about painting NAILS today and getting them claws on fleek.

Avoid easy chipping and weak nails for good! You don’t need to be a professional nail technician to achieve perfect salon nails – just add these few simple things into your nail routine and just like that, you’ll definitely see an improvement on your nail game!

Shape your nails in a way that works for you. Make sure they’re functional for what you get up to during the day. If you work a lot with your hands, you don’t want to end up with broken nails!

Your nails need a good clean too! Before you start painting onto your nails, clean them beforehand. Soften the nails and give them a good scrub so that your varnish glides on with ease.

Push your nail varnish into your nail bed. Instead of painting in just one upwards motion, start in the middle of your nail and push the color towards your nail bed. Doing this will have you saying goodbye to streaks, and hello to even color.

Get yourself a really, really, really good top coat. Like, really good. It’s the last step in the routine, so it’s good to have a top coat that leaves your nails dry, in good condition and with little or no smudges.

When nails are dry, leave them in icy cold water. It dries and sets your nails even more and leaves absolutely no room for smudges or chips. Perfect nails always!

NAIL DETAIL: Wreath nail art

Time to ease into that good good festive spirit!

What better way to start feeling them Christmassy vibes than a festive mani? New nails give us life and we want you to feel the same way.

Here’s how to achieve festive and fashionable nails for the weeks of December.

What You’ll Need:
– Emerald Green Nail Varnish
– A light colored Nail Varnish (your choice)
– Small Nail Art brush
– Clear Top Coat

On fresh nails, apply 2 coats of your lighter Nail Varnish.

Choose a nail that you would like to draw the nail detail on and have some Emerald Green Nail color on your Nail Art Brush.

Using your Nail Art brush, paint on small dots in the outline of a circle.

On every dot, draw on small diagonal flicks. Then keep building up on flicks and stop whenever you’re happy with how it looks.

Paint on your top coat and ta-da! Done!

Time to make the most out of the sunshine and summertime that we have left in 2015!

What better way to transition them sun-kissed days to cold and cosy days in than changing up your wardrobe and beauty products? And girls, while you’re at it, treat yourself to one last Summer manicure. Get a color on them claws that remind you of the Summer that you’ve just had! Bring some color into this autumnal season!

Or, if you’d rather do it yourself, we’ve got a bubbly nail art design that is simple and will make your nails pop in the Fall.

– White Nail Varnish
– 2 different colored Nail Varnishes of your choice
– Top Coat

On clean nails, paint on 2 coats of White Nail Varnish.

Take your first chosen color and begin to paint small dots with the tip of the brush. Make sure the dots are more dense towards the tip of your nails. Once that has dried, do the same with your second nail varnish color. Overlapping the dots is encouraged!

Dry it out and finally add your top coat. Voila, you’ve got confetti nails.

How are those pretty claws of yours? In need of some new unique and creative nail art inspiration? What about this simple and stylish gradient nail design?

If you want a sure-fire conversation starter, all you need is 3 colors of varnish: Black, grey and white. And you’ll also need your fave Top Coat.

Starting off with clean nails, paint on one coat of black varnish to your thumb nails. Then one coat of grey on your middle finger, and one coat of white varnish on your pinky nail! Then go back and do your second coat.

Moving on to your index finger! On a scrap piece of paper, make a mixture of black and white varnish, making sure there’s more back in the mix. You should end up with a charcoal-like color. Paint that shiz on!

Make another color by mixing your white and grey varnish. Put in a little more grey than white. You should end up with a pale grey color, then paint it on to your ring finger!

Let it dry and finish off with your top coat!

IMG_5693On top of the eye shape, paint a simple circle in the middle with the Blue Nail Varnish. Let this dry for another few minutes.

IMG_5696With your Nail Art brush, take some Black Nail Varnish and neatly outline the top of the eye shape. Then go ahead and paint on a few lines on top of the eye that resemble an eyelash.

NAIL DETAIL: Dazzle dust nails

You’re kidding yourself if you’re not aiming for the best nail game. Don’t forget that your claws are another way you can flaunt your style and your inner beauty creativity! Dazzle dust nails involve an approach to your mani that you’ve probably never used, so listen up guys and girls!

STEP 2 Here’s the tricky bit. Pick up a bit of eyeshadow on your spoon and tap it on your nail bed. After that, paint on your second coat and before it dries, blow the eyeshadow towards and onto your nail.

STEP 3 Repeat for all your nails, or just one detail nail.

STEP 4 Wait for 8-10 minutes for your nails to dry. Then apply your Clear Top Coat – this is a crucial step and will make that dust dazzle.

It’s that time again – time to glam up those claws of yours! Today I’ve got a fresh take on the Yin and Yang symbol that you can show off on your very own nails. It’s probably easier than you think and you can customize it however you want because hey, no one’s stopping you.

All you’re going to need is two different nail varnish colors (you choose the colors, or you can go with the traditional black and white) and your go-to clear top coat. Yep I’m being for real right now – that’s all you need! So what next? Follow this tutorial and be the talk of the town.

STEP 1 Start off with fresh nails. Cut and cleaned however you like it.

STEP 2 Choose you main nail color and apply 2 coats of that to each nail.

STEP 3 Choose your detail nail (AKA the nail you want to Yin & Yang-ify) and choose your second color.

STEP 4 Using the brush of your second color, paint on the line where the two colors meet (see photo below).

STEP 5 Fill in one side with your second color. Let it dry for 1-2 minutes.

STEP 6 Using the flat end of each nail varnish brush, leave a small amount of color to apply the dots. The color of dot that you apply should be the opposite color to what you’re painting on… if that makes any sense. (See photo below)

STEP 7 Leave to dry for another few minutes and apply your top coat to all nails. You’re done!

Like I said before, you can customize this nail art however you want. You could apply the design on every nail, or you could even mix up the colors every nail for some trippy shiz. Go crazy with your creative mind and have fun!
